ICY BAY LODGE

LIVE THE DREAM

Alaska Wilderness Adventure, Vertical Rush

Icy Bay, home of the Icy Bay Lodge, is heralded as one of National Geographic's 10 Treasures of the World, and even filmmakers have taken notice. Icy Bay Lodge has been host to a variety of different Alaska tourism groups and Alaska guides, however none quite like the cast and crew of Vertical Rush.

The documentary, produced by Planet Watch, follows a team of climbers as they scale Mount St. Elias and upon reaching the top, ski back down to the bottom. The Vertical Rush team was the first in history to take on and complete this specific Alaska wilderness adventure and survive.

The reason for its appeal? Mount Saint Elias, which stands 18,000 feet above sea level, is truly breathtaking. The Icy Bay area, part of the Lost Coast of Alaska, is home to some of the most prized scenery and wildlife in the state, and is comparatively less traveled.

Icy Bay Lodge Alaska Tourism

The Icy Bay Lodge, owned and operated by George and Jill Davis, is the only lodge in the wonder-filled Icy Bay area. It is, in the Davis's opinion, simply the best location for Alaska tourism, and the perfect destination for you and your family.

The scenery, as briefly mentioned above, is fit for a movie. The Icy Bay Lodge sits at the base of Mount Saint Elias, and right along the Alaskan coastline. For Alaska travel tours contact us today. The wildlife in the Icy Bay area is truly unique, as well. As Icy Bay is off the beaten path, the animal habitats are more natural, and the Icy Bay Lodge offers the opportunity for guests to view seals, whales, bears, eagles, and the largest salmon in the world. The large amount of fish lends the area to fantastic fishing expeditions, and adventure seekers may also participate in ATVing, kayaking, even surfing the waters of the Alaskan shoreline.

The Davis family personally invites you to plan your Alaska wilderness adventure today, and to come visit them at their home. Browse IcyBayAlaska.com for more information, and discover the scenery, wildlife, and adventure of the Lost Coast and Icy Bay Lodge.
