If getting the oppurtunity to look face to face with Glaciers Icy Bay is the place for you. One part of your Adventure is going up in different fijords for glacier viewing. On this journey you will have the oppurtunity to view seals up close on ice burgs, see Mountain Goats in the foothills, Coastal Brown and Black Bears, and Wolves roaming the beaches, all from the safety of our 36 foot vessel Icy Cape.
Icy Bay is unique in more than one way. Icy Bay hosts the largest concentration of Harbor Seas in May through July. They come up the protected waters to have their pups. Starting the first of May we start our annual shorebird viewing. Thousands of shorebirds migrate every summer and the list of species is endless. We use ATV's, Kayaks and by walking you will have the oppurtunity to view as many birds as you wish. From the lodge you will have the oppurtunity to see Moose, Bears Wolves, Birds, Land otters. The Lodge is located in an area that allows you to see all this wildlife. Not only do you have the oppurtunity to see all the wildlife, we have a pair of home body nesting Bald Eagles that raise their chicks every year.
In addition to wildlife and bird viewing, Whale watching out front of Icy Bay is spectacular. Every year April through August we experience the annual migration of Humpback whales, Grey Whales, Beaked Whales, and we spot super pods of Killer Whales.
